Taniki Anderson (b. 2000) is a multidisciplinary artist and founder of Artful Expressions who resides in Bulls Bay, Lucea, Hanover, Jamaica. With a lifelong passion for art, her creative journey began in childhood with early explorations in drawing and crafting.
Formally, Taniki studied art at the high school level, earning a CXC certification. It is through self-directed learning, online tutorials, and hands-on experience that she has honed her skills in various mediums, including painting, mixed media, sand art, and sculpting.
Professionally, Taniki has been active in the Jamaican art scene for approximately nine years. She gained formative experience at Oriental Creative Studios, where guidance from Sheldon Blake furthered her artistic growth. She also developed her signature sand art practice under the mentorship of Marvel Anderson and Michael Livingston at Irie Art.
Taniki’s artistic approach is characterized by experimentation and a willingness to explore diverse mediums and techniques. This versatility has yielded a distinctive body of work that showcases creativity, imagination, and technical skill, rooted in authentic Jamaican culture.
Within Kingston Creative’s initiatives, Taniki has participated as an assistant artist, contributing to the transformation of Downtown Kingston and Montego Bay. She assisted on mural projects downtown with artist Sheldon Blake, and also assisted artist Joel Cameron on a mural project in Montego Bay.
With a strong foundation in art and a drive to continually push creative boundaries, Taniki Anderson is an exciting talent to watch in the Jamaican art scene.
