Artist Bio

In 1996, Suzanne formed the “Suzanne Wallace Band” a 5 piece ensemble and with the help of a Toronto agent, was booked at some of the world’s top five star hotels in Asia and India. Upon returning to Trinidad in 2002, Suzanne auditioned for position of one of five lead vocalist’s of the country’s first Big Dance Band “Divine Echoes”. An innovation of the former Prime Minister Mr. Patrick Manning. During which Suzanne has performed at the Prime Minister’s residence “Diplomatic Centre”, for heads of state including President Barack Obama of the United States and other foreign dignitaries when they visited Trinidad for the Summit of the Americas, and for large corporate company functions. This 50 piece orchestra, Divine Echoes comprising of young educated musicians has attended several workshops on the history of calypso and jazz at the National Library “NALIS” in Port of Spain, hosted by lecturers from the University of the West Indies “UWI” with guest appearances by renowned names in the Music Industry. In 2009 the Band attended a six weeks study tour to Cuba, at a University there. They were schooled in the various styles of Latin music. Took Latin-dance classes, and all vocalists learnt songs in Spanish They also learnt various techniques of playing latin percussive instruments, as they sang and danced. At the end of the six weeks, each member received a Certificate of Participation and the Band was invited to perform their newly learnt skills at the Consulate-General’s residence, for friends and invited guests. In 2012 at the end of their five year contract Divine Echoes presented Suzanne with a certificate of “Outstanding Performance.” Suzanne is currently pursuing an Associate degree in Music, at The College of Science and Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago “COSTAATT” and enjoys sharing her knowledge and experience with
eager aspiring Talent.
