The artist Shevous, given name Shevian Wilson, was born and raised in a small community in northern Clarendon where he had musical affiliations in both church and school choirs growing up. He would sometimes sing leads on the choirs and also played the drum set for his church. It was in late high school leading to early university that he secretly started writing his own lyrics. To him writing is a form of expressing not only his thoughts and/or experiences, but also those of people around him. A friend of his heard some of the songs he wrote privately, fell in love with the music and advised him to start recording and posting so others could hear. Since then his love and passion for making and writing music grew
and even though music production costs is a burden for him where marketing is concerned, he still continues to write and make songs the best way he can; he says “as long as I’m enjoying it, and the people that listen them enjoys and/or relates he will continue to do it how he can”. Currently he has a couple projects out and has a music video on the way named “Nuh Waste My Time”. All of his music hows his versatility to produce diverse sounds which he generates from his own love for music, sounds of genres including dancehall, reggae, rock and roll, hip hop, afro beats, rap and more. He hopes to get the help he needs and to grow creatively and work with top producers if he gets the chance. He is a humble soul that is often told that he is “too humble”. He hopes on day his music gets heard by the right ears that can help his music get the recognition he and his peers knows it deserves.
