Artist Bio

Ajibola is a young daughter of Trinidad and Tobago, whose Yoruba sobriquet speaks to her character as one who was born with wealth and who will always have wealth, in a holistic way. She identifies with being an organic vocalist, who commits to portraying the afro-centric culture of her country. Currently she is working on her EP “Bliss”, which explores deeply songs to the orisa, doption and stick fighting layways, all fused into a caribbean jazz fusion. This EP promises to not only showcase her vocal capability but also her expertise as a percussionist.Ajibola started playing Traditional folk drums of Trinidad and Tobago at the tender age of three which was the genesis of her profession. Her percussion career has enabled her to grace the stage with many leading artistes of Trinidad and Tobago. Her debut as a vocalist/ percussionist began while playing with Ella Andall and Uptown productions. There she sang background vocals and played the djembe. She holds a Masters in Carnival and Cultural Studies from the University of Trinidad and Tobago and hopes to bring a true account of African Spirituality of Trinidad and Tobago by removing the stigma through her music.
