My name is Shaquille “Shaq” Hewitt a multi-media sculptural artist mainly working in clay. I’m 28 years old, living and working in Barbados. I enjoy using Barbadian clays and materials to create forms and glazes, especially from the ocean and its surroundings where I spend a great deal of my time and can plainly see the harm being done. My work is mostly geared to sea life forms, textures and colours hoping to raise awareness and respect for one of nature’s biggest and most beautiful gifts.
