I am Shanalee Shields, a 24-year-old creative, exploring my talents since I was as young as I can
remember. I have been exposed to and practicing drama and music through community and family, then later in school life. During high school I began to zone in, specifically on drama and performance. Taking theatre classes more seriously and exploring even other aspects than acting itself. Growing up my main form of entertainment or escape would be the movies, but I had not come to the realizing that I wanted to be an actor until the age of 16 when I entered the Teenage Observer Most Talented Teen competition, this was the most effort I have placed in performance, most rehearsals, most anxiety and fear and it exploded into a moment on stage where I had an otherworldly experience, I felt something I knew I did not want to stop feeling and so I chased it. I furthered my study in theatre at Edna Manley College and explored different areas and craft to add to my skills, like make up, directing, writing, shooting, and editing and
styling. I now own a startup company called Shape Shift creative that offers all those services, and I am continuing my journey to become a film producer, and grow the industry in Jamaica, and allow others to feel, the therapy of escaping into a film.
