Rica G. is a multi-hyphenate cultural practitioner on a mission to serve as a catalyst for liberation throughout the Diaspora using fellowship, technology, and the arts. An innovative educator at the core, Miss Rica has transformed stages, surf camps, skate parks, computer labs, traditional classrooms, and more into exciting spaces of community learning for scholars of all ages. Whether it’s schoolchildren or a poetry audience, anyone within earshot is going to learn something or heal some aspect of themselves when she takes the floor. The subjects of her lesson plans range from Hip-Hop based Computer Science to creative writing and performing to history and social movements. As a solution-oriented individual, her lyrics are intentionally crafted to be as educational as they are entertaining.Community engagement is integral to Rica’s mission. This is evident in her work with youth mentoring and event curation. She is a natural MC in front of any audience, with a skill for making everyone feel welcomed. Rica G.’s love for music and dancing has added rhythmic roller skating to the list of verbs for which she’s well-known and shares with her community. In 2021 she was certified in Kemetic Yoga and has begun facilitating workshops.
