Artist Bio

Rajeave Mattis is a young Director, Actor, Writer and Choreographer is based in Kingston
Jamaica. Having started his practice at the secondary level of his education; he went on to pursue
a career through his studies at the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts, School of Drama. There, Mattis had the opportunities to work under the direction of Caribbean thespians such as Camille Quamina, Marvin George, Carolyn Allen and Jean Paul Menou. In addition gaining experience with lecturers and directors outside the Caribbean such as Alude Mahali and Pierre Lemaire. Rajeave continued his practice under the tutelage of Trevor Nairne at the Centre Stage Theatre workshop for young artist and NDTC; Marlon Simms. Under the leadership of Nairne; He made his directing debut with the play “Odale’s Choice” and continued with productions such as “Red”, “My Baby Father”, “Balm Yaad”, “Schoolboy Confession”, “Out” and recently “advice”. As an actor who is committed to his craft through practice; he has been in plays such as “Shango Tale of the Orisha’s”, “Mid-Summer Night’s Dream”, “Mother Courage” and “Phobia”. With his passion in social development; Rajeave's interest remains in using art as a medium to grow society.
