Hello! I'm Peta-Ann Smith, an illustrator and 2D digital animator. Born, raised, and residing in Jamaica, I've been drawing since early childhood and officially established myself as a professional illustrator in 2012. Growing up in Jamaica in the 1980s, there was very little Afro/Afro-Caribbean representation available for children and I wanted to change that. I had a slow and much-delayed start but I’m on my way to fulfilling that goal.

While the majority of my client work so far has been for children’s picture books, I’m open and eager to expand into other genres of illustration and explore how versatile I can be. So far, my attempts have earned me a spot in an upcoming book about phenomenal Caribbean women from the Greater Antilles and I can’t wait to see what other opportunities will come my way.
