Marked as a filmmaker to watch by the LA times, Maya Cozier is a writer-director whose visual and
narrative style stems from her West Indian background. Upon graduating from film school, Maya Cozier
set out to film her first feature film, She Paradise, on a micro budget on location in Trinidad with
nonprofessional performers. She Paradise picked up distribution with Samuel Goldwyn Films and was
accepted to Tribeca Film Festival and AFI fest in 2020. Maya Cozier also directs music videos and
commercials for a range of clients including Atlantic Records. She’s currently pursuing an MFA at
Columbia University.
