Artist Bio

Photography is an indispensable art form, where the surroundings of a place or a moment can be quickly captured to reveal a deeper quintessence of life. My focus in photography is in the area of conceptual portraiture and cultural documentary. I have always been fascinated by human figures, and their expressions made possible through their body language, displaying a ‘hidden presence’ of emotion. When it comes to conceptual portraiture, my inspirations and work are derived from my interactions of personalities and nature which I transform into my surreal imagery.
Born and raised in Dominica, West Indies, I moved to the U.S in my late teens where I was first introduced to the world of photography. I gained a B.F.A at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and was able to experience film and dark room processes before transitioning over to digital at the Hallmark Institute of Photography. After working for several years abroad, I returned to my homeland to re-immerse myself into the
culture that I wanted to reconnect with. I am now a Freelance documentary, travel, and portrait photographer. I also co-own a business with my sister called Blue Curtain Creative – where design, photography and video are intertwined.
