Artist Bio

Lucette Regis started dancing at the tender age of two (2), having been inspired
and taught her foundation by her mother, Lucy Regis with the Les Petit Enfants Dance
Theatre. She has trained with many groups such as the Arawaks Dance Group under
Torrance Mohammed (m.o.m.) and the Little Carib Dance Company under the tutelage
of Andre Largen. Lucette has trained in folk, ballet, contemporary, jazz and classical East
Indian (kathak) dance and possesses a B.F.A. in the Performing Arts with specialization
in Dance from the University of Trinidad and Tobago and a Certificate in Dance and
Dance Education at the University of West Indies. In 2016, she formed her own dance school, the Sixth Position Studio. Her interest to teach peaked during her teenage years when she was first awarded the opportunity to teach a group of dancers for a class project and realized she possessed a gift to easily
transcend the knowledge of dance to her students.
The performing arts is not her only forte as she received a scholarship to study
Meteorology at the Caribbean Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology in Barbados and is
a certified Meteorological Technician. This “little light” which is the definition of her name,
is truly a stimulating force to the various personnel that she has met and will strive to
continue to do so.
