Jean Renel Pierre Louis (aka Prensnelo) is a painter, photographer/film maker from Petit
Goâve, Haïti. His first exhibit was in a collective of ten Haitian artists, including Jean-Claude
‘Tiga’ Garoute, co-founder of the Saint-Soleil post-naïve school of Haitian painting.
In 2014 a visual arts/cultural and research residency in Grenada – to explore the historical
connection between Haiti and Grenada, including a week-long workshop with five local
artists, culminated in an exhibition titled Amitye (friendship). Prensnelo relocated to Grenada
and attained citizenship.
