I have always bewn a lover of authentic culture. I was born in St. Mary Jamaica on
November, 14.1989. I am a Cultural performing artiste and student practitioner of African and
Jamaican Traditional Music. Traditional drums are my primary medium of artistic expression.
I was first introduced to traditional drumming in 1999 as a student at the Ocho Rio Primary
School and started performing with the school group at festivals and cultural events.
I started performing professionally in January 2017 with a performing arts group that worked
primarilyon the hotel circuit. Since 2017 I became an avid student of Student of West African
Dumming and a resaercher of Jamaican traditional cultural artistic expressions that are of African
origin.
I have performed with with groups such as, Stars Classic Entertainment, Artistry in Motion,
Chidren of The Drums and Linval and The African Descendants to name a few. I have also
engaged in educational projects as a presenter of African and Jamaican traditional culture, the
most recent being a publication of This is Kumina' podcast I recorded as a part of the Voices Of
Jamaica Podcast series. This was a collaboration between 'The Authentic Kumina Village' and
Alpha School of Music. I am presently engaged in 'The Authentic Kumina Village' project as the
head of communication, with the responsibility of documenting, recording and publishing
information to support the groups effort, to preserve and encourage the continued practice of
Kumina in its authentic form. Other projects includes performances and presentations through
Kingston Creative's Virtual Artwalk.
