Artists Bio

Arjun Ramkissoon is a Trinidad born artist who has resided there for his lifetime. He has
been awarded and featured in initiatives such as the University of the West Indies IGDS Break the
Silence Initiative, The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations ‘Treasures Among
Us’ Roaming Environmental Art Exhibition, Tunapuna/Piarco Regiopnal Cooperation (TPRC) Art In
the Park and others. He is also a University of The West Indies undergraduate degree holder in the
field of Psychology.

Artists Statement
Arjun Ramkissoon, Mixed Media

I create surrealist, mixed media paintings and sculptures which seek to explore mental health, gender
and the modern local milieu through the use of archival ink, watercolours, polymer clay, acrylic paint
and more.

My work attempts to blend everyday feelings and emotions into eccentric forms and colours through the
use of flowers, vivid colour combinations and the human figure.
