Artist Bio

My name is Alfred Williams, I'm an artist by profession, self-taught, but with some help from Royan Grey, a master artist who is a former student of the Edna Manley College. I met Royan in 1981 while l was learning commercial arts at a reputable sign company, which l later mastered. Now, during which time he had a studio there and so l used every opportunity l got even during my lunch break to watched him paint, and so l later developed a real passion for fine art painting. In 1986 l participated in the Festival Fine Art Competition for the first time and was awarded a silver award. The following year l participated again, and was awarded another Silver and a Certificate of Merit, included a congrats letter from the former Chairman of the Visual Arts Committee of the Edna Manley College, Mr. Fitz Harrack, who's now deceased. In 1991 l participated again in the competition and was awarded another Silver award, and that was my final year. I later when on to having three solo exhibitions, and have participated in several group exhibitions as well, both locally and international. Here are some of my not so recent artworks for viewers to view.
